Passenger Tweets About TTE Taking Extra Money For Tickets, TTE Suspended Within Minutes
We have come across many examples in past that show how social media actually works out well with Indian Railways and how the railway minister Suresh Prabhu has helped passengers find a way.
One such incident happened when Govind Narayan, a passenger on the Barmer-Kalka Express on Saturday, caught the TTE of the train allotting seats after collecting money without issuing a receipt for it.
When he saw him collectively collecting Rs. 15 from passengers in exchange of seat allotment without a receipt, he asked for the receipt, and the TTE denied saying it’s a long journey and he shall give him the receipt on the way.
Without any doubt, he sent out a tweet to the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Jodhpur.

And the instant results were appreciative.

Later the TTE was asked to get off the train at Merta station.
This clearly shows how social media is largely a reflection of what is happening and how to get things done.
“I could not see this happening. I knew about the procedure of tweeting to the Ministry of Railways so I chose to complain there,” Govind said.
The Logical Indian appreciates the Indian Railways for being prompt. But at the same time, we would request our community members to not misuse social media and urge the railway to verify the tweets, before taking actions based on it.
